Sitting alone at the Cottage Bistro in Vancouver, BC on a Thursday night while my girlfriend Alison and her band The Rogue Crows begin setting up for the evening show. A vintage microphone waited patiently on stage. The mic had a look of tired anticipation, just waiting for her beautiful voice to fill the room. I imagined the shape as a ribcage, and as the Bistro filled up, I sketched Mike the Microphone.
